Founded in 1888, the Silver Studio produced fabric, wallpaper, carpet and metalwork designs for many companies including Liberty & Co and Sanderson.
Napper worked for the Silver Studio design firm from 1893, and left in 1898 to work on a freelance basis. He produced a range of successful stylised floral patterns, which clearly showed the influence of European Art Nouveau design.
