The ‘Boatie Hoose’ is a feature of Shetland. When the fishing boats called Sexareen, a boat rowed by six men, fell into disuse they were turned over and made into small agricultural buildings such as this. They don’t do this anymore and there are very few still standing around the island. Ron is particularly drawn to them as they look like the interior of a church, perhaps a gothic church.
